General (The Quick Version)
- The competition is open to all visitors of www.infrastructure-excellence.com that become registered members.
- A person or group that participants in the competition is referred to as a "Participant". Participant means you or your company as context requires. Participant must submit imagery, photos, and/or videos of their infrastructure project. Up to a total of five (5) images/photos and/or videos can be submitted with each entry. Participants also must complete the submission questionnaire in English which will include project name, project characteristics, and a description of how Autodesk technology was used to help address project challenges, including information on best practices and innovations that made the project possible. Submissions may illustrate a specific project phase, such as planning, design, construction or management of infrastructure projects.
- Projects should be developed with one or more of the following Autodesk® software products: AutoCAD® Map 3D, Autodesk® Infrastructure Modeler, AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, Autodesk® 3ds Max® Design, Autodesk® Navisworks® Simulate and/ or Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage software. If Participant uses other Autodesk software or cloud services in addition to the Autodesk software specified above, such as any Autodesk 360 Cloud Service, AutoCAD® or Autodesk® Revit® Structure, the Participant should identify the names of such software used in development of their projects as applicable.
- If Participant does not currently own an Autodesk software product, Participant can download a free 30-day trial version. Student Participants can download Autodesk software from the Autodesk Education Community.
- Each Participant may submit up to five different projects.
- Project entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals.
- A first place winner, a second place winner, and a third place winner will be selected by the judges (an independent panel of judges selected by CGarchitect and its sponsors) based on the following criteria: project complexity, innovative use of technology, sustainability, and a clear articulation of the benefits of model-based workflows, including integrated analysis, visualization and simulation techniques. Additionally, one honorable mention (1) winner will be selected for Best Use of Autodesk BIM Solutions to Convey Design Intent on a Civil Infrastructure Project via Visualization.
- The first place winner will receive one (1) 8570w mobile HP workstation with 15" screen, one (1) round trip airfare to Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013, one (1) Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 pass, and one (1) lodging for four (4) consecutive nights in Las Vegas. Hotel accommodations, airline, and flight times are at the discretion of Autodesk. The Second place winner will get one (1) Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 pass and one (1) lodging for four (4) consecutive nights in Las Vegas. Hotel accommodations are at the discretion of Autodesk. The third place winner will get one (1) Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 pass. The honorable mention winner for Best Use of Autodesk BIM Solutions to Convey Design Intent on a Civil Infrastructure Project via Visualization will get one (1) Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 pass. Shipping, delivery, taxes and duty charges for the HP workstation will be the responsibility of the first place winner if they are based outside of North America. Only meals and evening socials that are included with Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 pass are provided. Entry to the United States to attend Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 is subject to visa eligibility.
- The submission deadline is Friday June 28, 2013 at midnight MDT (GMT-6). Winners will be announced no later than September 1, 2013.
- If the Participant is an individual, Participant must be 21 years or older to enter this competition and 21 years or older to qualify for the trip to Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013. If the Participant is a corporation, the corporation’s employee who the corporation designates to receive the trip to Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 must be 21 years or older.
- Participants shall retain the copyright to their images, photos and/or videos. CGarchitect and its Sponsors will have usage rights to all submitted materials as agreed to by the Participant when entering the competition.

Official Contest Rules (The Long Version)
This contest ("Contest") is operated by CGarchitect Digital Media Corp ("CGarchitect") (cgarchitect.com/infrastructure-excellence.com)and sponsored by those businesses ("Sponsors") found on our sponsor page, which currently includes Autodesk, Inc., and Hewlett- Packard Development Company, L.P. A person or group that participants in the competition is referred to as a "Participant". Participant means you or your company as context requires.Eligibility:
This Contest is open to only registered members of infrastructure-excellence.com. If the Participant is an individual, Participant must be 21 years or older to enter this competition and 21 years or older to qualify for the trip to Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013. If the Participant is a corporation, the corporation’s employee who the corporation designates to receive the trip to Autodesk University Las Vegas 2013 must be 21 years or older. This Contest is subject to all federal, provincial, state and local laws and regulations where Participant is located or resides and is void if prohibited by your local laws or regulations. Participants from countries that are currently on any embargo lists from the United States or Canada are considered automatically disqualified and any entries from such Participants will be rejected. Participants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of CGarchitect which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. CGarchitect reserves the right to disqualify any Participant that it determines, in its sole discretion, is ineligible to participate in this Contest.
Summary:
In order to enter this Contest, Participant must submit project submissions through infrastructure-excellence.com and use the Sponsors’ products (available for free trial download through infrastructure-excellence.com); this means Participant must register with infrastructure-excellence.com (no purchase necessary). For every project submitted, Participant will receive an entry into the Contest. Each Participant is limited to a maximum of five (5) project submissions, except if the Participant is a company, where each such Participant is allowed to enter a maximum of five (5) project submissions per employee interested in having projects in which that employee worked submitted to this Contest. Valid entries will be collected for the specified period of the Contest. Once the Contest ends, an independent panel of judges selected by CGarchitect and Sponsors will decide the winning project entries. The decisions of these judges are final and not appealable in any fashion.
Representations:
By entering the Contest, Participant warrants to CGarchitect and Sponsors that:
- Participant meets all eligibility requirements of the Contest and Participant understands and agrees to the rules of the contest; AND
- Participant is complying with all applicable statutes, regulations, and other laws; AND;
- Any projects the Participant submits are the Participant’s original work and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of other parties. Any entry found to be plagiarized or that is proved to be an infringing work will be automatically disqualified and may subject the Participant to criminal and civil liabilities from CGarchitect, Sponsors, and the party whose work you infringed. If the Participant is a company, the person entering a submission into this Contest on behalf of their company represents and warrants that he or she is an authorized representative of such company, and that he or she has the power and authority to make such statements, enter this Contest, bind the company, and conduct such actions on behalf of such company.
Cost:
There is no cost to participate in the Contest. No purchase is necessary.
Judging Criteria:
By entering the Contest, Participant agrees to the following judging criteria:
- Judging will be performed by a panel of expert judges selected by CGarchitect and Autodesk, Inc.
- A first round of judging will be performed through an online voting system where each entry is scored on the project complexity, innovative use of technology, sustainability, and a clear articulation of the benefits of model-based workflows, including integrated analysis, visualization and simulation techniques. Additionally, projects will be ranked on best use of Autodesk BIM Solutions to convey design intent on a civil infrastructure project via visualization.
- For entries that pass the first round of judging, a final round of judging will be performed by all judges in person or via a web conference. The top 10 scoring projects from the first round will be further evaluated and discussed by the judges based on the same criteria from the first round.
- From the final round of judging a first place winner, a second place winner, and a third place winner will be selected upon a majority consensus of the judges. Additionally, the judges will select one honorable mention (1) winner for Best Use of Autodesk BIM Solutions to Convey Design Intent on a Civil Infrastructure Project via Visualization. The decisions of these judges are final and not appealable in any fashion.
- A single prize is awarded for winning submissions. If a winning submission was submitted by a company, that company is to determine which employee from that company is to receive the prize.
Use of Entries and Participant Information:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, by entering the Contest, Participant agrees to the following:
- By submitting Participant agrees that, CGarchitect and its designated Sponsors may use its submission(s), fully credited, for promotional purposes on their websites and/or marketing collateral. Participant will retain all copyrights to its submission, including but not limited to explanatory material, images, photos, and/or videos.
- Each Participant consents to the use by CGarchitect, Sponsors, or any third party chosen by CGarchitect or Sponsors, of the submission related to the Contest, including but not limited to project information, explanatory material, images, photos and/or videos, as well as any personal information obtained through the Contest, for advertising, marketing, PR or other purposes. CGarchitect and Sponsors are not required to return to the Participant all or any part of a Participant’s submission to the Contest.
- Each Participant grants CGarchitect, Sponsors, or any third party chosen by CGarchitect or Sponsors the non-exclusive right to make audio, video, photographic, or other recordings of the Participant (collectively, the "Renderings") which may feature or simulate Participant’s name, voice, likeness, image, gestures, mannerisms, signature, written or spoken words, biographical information, or other aspects of Participant’s persona (collectively, the "Depiction") and to use such Renderings and Depiction in connection with any or all of CGarchitect’s and Sponsor’s internal or external advertising, marketing, promotional, PR and/or sales materials in all media and by all means (now known or hereafter devised).
- By accepting a prize for winners, a Participant consents to publication in any media form of such Participant’s full name, address, voice, photograph, biographical material, and likeness by CGarchitect, Sponsors, or any third party chosen by CGarchitect or Sponsors, on any winner list, advertising, marketing, and other materials without additional compensation or notice. Other than as set forth herein, CGarchitect and Sponsors will individually treat any personal information supplied by Participants according to each of their respective privacy policies.
Important Dates:
This Contest will begin on November 26, 2012 and will end no later than 12:00am midnight on, June 28, 2013 MDT (GMT-6). Winners will be announced no later than September 1, 2013.

Release:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, by entering the Contest, Participant agrees to release and hold harmless CGarchitect, Sponsors, prize manufacturers, and their related companies and representatives from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in this Contest and/or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize(s) including, without limitation, intellectual property infringement, lost or incomplete entries, personal injuries, death, property damages and any claims by third parties or otherwise based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Participant acknowledges that CGarchitect and Sponsors have no liability for nor make any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, with regards to any prizes. Participant agrees to pay for any damages, losses, liabilities, costs, penalties, and expenses, including without limitation attorneys’ and experts’ fees and costs, incurred in connection with any claims brought against CGarchitect or Sponsors in connection with Participant’s participation in the Contest.
Limitation of Liability:
If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to such issues as computer viruses, participant fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that could affect the integrity of this Contest, CGarchitect and Sponsors reserve the right to terminate, suspend, or otherwise modify this Contest. CGarchitect and Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any Participant who violates the rules of this Contest. CGarchitect and Sponsors assumes no responsibility for any lost Contest entries, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, technical malfunction of servers/software, or unauthorized access and alteration of Contest entries. All limitations of liability in the cgarchitect.com Terms of Use apply. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDS "AS IS." NEITHER CGARCHITECT NOR SPONSORS MAKES AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, REGARDING ANY PRIZE OR PORTION THEREOF, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED OR STATUTORY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON- INFRINGEMENT.
Jurisdiction:
Any dispute that may arise hereunder shall be brought solely in the appropriate provincial or federal court sitting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and participants consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such court.
